Respect communities

• Respect families, clans, cultures, languages, regions and communities.
• Do not use Clanopedia to shame, harass, exclude or attack people.
• Avoid cultural gatekeeping or claiming authority without a clear basis.

Be careful with living people

• Do not post private living-person information publicly without consent.
• Avoid ID numbers, addresses, medical details, financial details, private disputes and phone numbers in public contribution fields.
• Use the private family-tree area for family notes that should not be public.

Contribute with context

• Share what you know, but explain whether it is sourced fact, oral history, family memory, interpretation or opinion.
• Provide sources or explain where the information comes from where possible.
• Use corrections to improve records respectfully.
• Accept that records may be disputed, reviewed again or changed as better sources become available.

Prohibited conduct

• No hate speech, ethnic hostility, harassment, intimidation or abusive language.
• No defamatory, unlawful or knowingly false claims.
• No impersonation of people, families, reviewers, institutions or cultural authorities.
• No scraping, spam, automated abuse or attempts to bypass review and privacy controls.

What review means

Clanopedia review means a submission has passed Clanopedia's review process. It does not prove the information is true or official, and it does not mean Clanopedia decides cultural truth, confirms identity or clan membership, settles ancestry or lineage disputes, or overrides family and community knowledge.

Public information comes from community contributions and sources. Clanopedia may review, correct, hide or remove it when new information, privacy, safety, legal or cultural concerns arise.
